Poorter van Brielle 30 Okt 1621, ouderling 1634, 1640, 1644, 1654, sinds 2 Sep 1625 vroedschap, schepen 1625-1627, 13 maal burgemeester sinds 1629, bekleedde talloze andere functies: raad in het College van Magistraten, schoout, penningmeester van de grote visserij en haringvaart, hoofdman van het Schippersgilde, stadstresorier, ontvanger van de kerkelijke goederen, boekhouder van het 'sieckhuijs of leprosshuijs', vader en regent van het gasthuis van Brielle, ontvanger-generaal van de verpondingen van Voorne, in 1657 benoemd tot baljuw en opperdijkgraaf van de landen van Voorne en Brielle, in 1657 mede-administrateur van de goederen van de erfgenamen van wijlen Abraha de Bije (vrouwe van Albrandswaard, kleindochter van Joris De Bije en de Delftse Maria Van Almonde.
