Lidmaat van de Doopsgezinde gemeente Ouddorp sedert 2-11-1654, landbouwer op een haaigemethoeve in het Oudeland groot 27 gemeten 1655-1661, wordt eigenaar in Nieuweroord van 1 ¼ gemet in de verwachting de pacht te kunnen overnemen van een boerderij aldaar van de Heer van der Schoot, maar deze weigerde; aan de collectes kan hij wegens armoede niet bijdragen; Pasen 1659 wordt hij geweerd van het Heilig Avondmaal omdat hij een kind had verwekt bij zijn dienstmeid met wie hij intussen wel was getrouwd; in 1663 wordt hij door de doopsgezinde diaconie ondersteund.
