(4) ANN RANDOLPH FITZHUGH
Born May 13, 1747. Died 1805. Married William Fitzhugh of "Chatham" on April 2, 1763. Chatham was built about 1769 and overlooks the town of Fredericksville. In 1797, they moved to Alexandria to be near his plantation called "Ravensworth" in Fairfax County. He became a close personal friend of General George Washington. Ann would never part with Chatham, however, after her death in 1805, he advertised it for sale. He was, from all accounts, a very wealthy man.
