Notes about Mary Ann Kuhns

Johnstown Tribune Jan. 11, 1940:
    MRS. MARY SEESE HAS PASSED AWAY; OGLETOWN -- Mrs. Mary A. (Kuhns)
Wirick-Seese, 83, died suddenly of a heart attack last night at her
home here.  Mrs. Seese had been in failing health for some time but
her death was unexpected. She was a daughter of Paul and Hannah
(Custer) Kuhns and was born in Somerset County.  Mrs. Seese was twice
married.  Her first husband, Israel Wirick, died 49 years ago.  Her
second husband, Joseph Seese, passed away in 1923.
   Surviving are two children to the first union: Ephraim Wirick,
Coleman Ave., Johnstown, and Fred Wirick, Greensburg. ; She leaves
these children to the second union: Emanuel Seese and Elmer Seese, and
Anna, wife of Louis Baumgardner, all of Ogletown.  Also surviving are
two stepchildren, John Seese, Washington, Pa., and Mary wife of Harry
Custer, Rummel, and two sisters and a brother: Anna, wife of Russell
Shaffer, Dale Borough; Mrs. Amanda Ott, Walnut Grove, and William S.
Kuhns, Johnstown.  Three children preceded her in death.  Mrs. Seese's
father was a veteran of the Civil War.
   The remains have been removed to the home of Mrs. Louis
Baumgardner.  Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon in
the Lutheran Church by Rev. C.C. Sellers of Scalp Level.  Interment
will be in the church Cemetery under the direction of Vernon Geisel,
Pleasantville mortician.
