416. Jean Charlet, 1622-1623,

fils de Jean, seigneur de Pontillas, et d'Ysabeau Gaiffier, fit partie de l'échevinage en qualité de premier échevin ; il testa le 6 juillet 1639.
En 1615, il releva les biens de Catherine de Lamistant, veuve du seigneur de Hodister et de Jean et Evrard Lamistant, ses tante et cousins.
Il reçut, le 31 juillet 1630, des lettres d'anoblissement pour l'entérinement desquelles il paya 450 écus.
Jean épousa Hélène de Ponty et mourut sans progéniture ; ses héritages passèrent à sa sœur Marguerite, épouse de Philippe de Ponty, chevalier, échevin (78).

(78) Jean prit du service dans le régiment du sieur de Haultepenne ; son frère Philippe fut alfer dans la compagnie du sieur de Viezy et y perdit la vie. Inventaire de archives de Lille, n° 560, 564 ; Transports de Namur 1515-16, f° 111.
