Nous avons tout lieu de croire que, dès le XIIIe siècle, il existait à Hambraine une maison forte, où s'était installée la famille et les successeurs du Chevalier Jean d'OTREPPE, et CHARLET dont Josette (ou Josselette) de LONGCHAMPS, épouse de Herman de WOELMONT, qui avait relevé avec ses soeurs, le 3 juillet 1556, la maison d'Hambraine, par transport de Guy de LONGCHAMPS, son grand-père.
