Joab Harmon's marriage date was obtained from a search in Family Tree Website.  Data were entered by  James Simpson of 1332 Berkshire Dr., Xenia Ohio, 45385.  Spouses name is Hanah Newport.  Joab Harmon's name appears in the 1850 US Census.    He is listed as living in Tennessee, Roane County Township, 20th Sub Division

DEATH: Death date for Joab Harmon provided by letter from Charles F. Harmon to Clyde Harmon dated 26 Oct 1968.  James  Harmon has a copy of the letter.

Family: In the 1880 US Federal Census Joab is listed as age 57 on last birthday.  Enumerated on the 8th day ofJune1880 in Roane Co. Tennessee.

BIOGRAPHY: Roane County Population lists for schools, dated 1872 for districts 1-8  on 10 July 1872 lists Joab Harmon as having three sons in the 8th districts schools.  No names shown but the three sons were probably Andrew (age 17), George (age 15) and John Franklin (age 11) Ages calculated based upon data taken from US Federal Census.

Journal: William Raleigh Clack journal 1870's part two shows Joab attended Asa Newport's estate sale  on 7 Feb 1877 and purchased items totaling $36.48.  He bought 28 1/2 lbs. of iron, (1) mowing scyth, (1) colt, 4 lbs. leather, and (1) saw and auger.  Same journal on 1 Apr 1880 shows Joab and Hannah married 9 Apr 1846 also Hannah as an heir of Asa Newport received $4.54 inheritance.

Federsa: Joab Harmon is listed in the   Us Federal population Schedule for 1850 in Tennessee, Roane Co., 20th Sub. division Page 235.

Census: US Census 1880, page 9, Supervisors District 1st, Enumeration District 224,  for the 8th Civil District, County of Roane,    State of Tennessee on the 8th day of June made byM.S.  Cook on A Page, (328?) lists as follows:  Joab Harmon, age 57, Hannah age 54, Harriet E. age 29, Andrew age 25, George W. age ; 23, John F. age 18, Theodocia age 12.  Also listed is Joab has inflamed eyes, also Joab's father born in North Carolina.
