WFT 1, Tree 3052: The Harrow-on-the-Hill Edlins living in the vicinity of London are one of three main Edlin lines in England. They lived on the Manor of Harrow since at least 1450. Richard Edlyn, buried at Pinner Church in 1618, probably a bachelor, was the 5th Governor of Harrow School. (Not this Richard)
There is good reason to believe that the Harrow on the Hill line was a branch from Leicestershire Edlins. Both lines claim relationship to Sir Peter Henry Edlin, Queens Counsel for County Middlesex in the last century, and he was descended from Rev. Samuel Edelin of Silchester, Hampshire, a cousin to Rev. Philip Edelen of Harrow. In addition, all Edlins and Edelens carry the tradition that all Edelynsare one family no matter the spelling.
[edlyn10gens.ftw]: Died between August 5, 1616 (date of will) and August 27, 1616 (will proved) at Middlesex, England, bu: possibly at Parish of Sturkeley, County Buckingham, England. His will was handled in the Peculiar Jurisdiction of the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Deanery of Croydon.
Richards Will was probated August 27, 1616, Peculiar Jurisdiction of the Archbishop of Canterbury Deanery of Croydon
