Robert's mother as well as his place of birth NEEDS ADDITIONAL INVESTIGATION.  Robert inherited 150 acres of land from his father, half of a 300 acre plantation on the Bryre Run adjoining the property of Thomas Cardwell.  One reference suggests that Robert's mother may have been Dorothy Forth, the daughter of Hugh Forth (1592 Wigham, England) and Jane Grundy, who married a William Daniel.  But that William is believed to have died and was buried in England.  Robert was the Undersheriff of Middlesex Co. in 1680 and placed on the Commission of Justices of the Peace in 1705.  Robert can be found in various records referenced as Captain Robert Daniel.

Captain Robert DANIEL Sr. was born before 1666 in England.  He died on 27 Dec 1720 in Middlesex Co., VA.  Captain had a will probated on 7 Mar 1720/1721 in Middlesex Co., VA.. He was placed on the Commission of Justices of the Peace 1705/06. (Compiler's note: According to "A Place in Time," Robert left 11 children including 6 sons. There is also an indication that he was married twice.)
