II. In goud een dwarsbalk van keel [is ontleend aan het blazoen van Willebrandt van Oldenburg, bisschop van Utrecht en het Oversticht van 1227-1233. Bisschop Willebrandt van Oldenburg vond in verband met de voortdurende strijd tegen Rudolf van Coevorden aanleiding Hardenberg te ommuren. Met de ommuring werd een aanvang gemaakt in 1230. Deze muur is thans gedeeltelijk opgegraven en gerestaureerd.];

Jüngerer Sohn des Grafen Wilhelm I. von Holland aus seiner 1. Ehe mit der Adelheid von Geldern, Tochter von Graf Otto I.

Otto III. war 1238 Regent von Holland für seinen Neffen WILHELM , verhalf ihm 1247 mit zur deutschen Krone, unterwarf die Drenther Friesen nach vielen Kämpfen, behauptete das Salland gegen Geldern und machte sein Bistum zu einem holländischen Nebenland wie schon unter seinem Vorgänger Balduin.

Opgevolgd door Gozewijn van Amstel (van Randerode; van Randerath. Bsp van Utrecht 1249-1250; oom van Gijsbrecht IV van Amstel)
