    C.J.MONTANEY RITES WILL BE HELD FRIDAY
    Esperance, Aug 13. -- Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the late home for Chrles J. Montaney, 76, who died Tuesday night following a long illness.  Rev. Joseph C. Long, pastor of the Methodist church, of which Mr. Montaney was a member, will officiate. ; Burial will be in Esperance cemetery.
    He was born March 3, 1860, in Charleston, Montgomery County, son of John T. and Mary Conover Montaney.  A retired farmer, he had lived in Esperance village for 21 years.
    Survivors include his widow, Ella L. Koonts Montaney; one daughter, Mrs. George Blythe, and one son, Rae J. Montaney, both of Esperance, and several grandchildren.
    Mr. Montaney was a member of Beth-Omen Lodge, I.O.O.F., Delanson; amember of Mudjeekeewis Tribe, I.O.R.M., Esperance, and of the Esperance Pocahontas, Keewaydin Council.
