Notes about George Henry Clarke

George disappeared one day when he drove his team to town.  Rumor has it that he went through the ice or that he ran away to Virginia or Kentucky with the preacher's wife.  Julia waited eight years to remarry.  His father, Lewis Clarke, mentions George H. in his will (1888) but his mother Deborah mentions Julia Macomber, widow of George Clarke in her will (1892).
