In Dutch records, Jacobus Bogert is frequently called "Junior", not because his father was also Jacobus, but meaning "the younger" to distinguish him from his uncle Jacobus who was just three years older than he.
"Jacobus Bogert, born December 25, 1737, (son of John Bogert, Jr.), married, April 23, 1756, Elizabeth Peacock, of a French Huguenot family. He died February 1, 1811."
Marriage License for James Bogert and Elisabet Pecock issued on 23 April 1756. Marriage on 22 [sic] April 1756. [Note: It seems likely that the two dates were transposed]
