Notes about Rachel van AUKEN

Jacobus Van Aken made a will, on file in Book C, page 276, Newton, New Jersey, in which he directs as follows: "To children of Nicholas Schoonover, namely, Margaret, wife of Benjamin Rosenkrans; Rachel, wife of Will Shaw; Saleche [Charlotte], wife of Alexander Shaw.:  His bequest to his sister Rachel reads in full: "I give to my sister Rachel and bequeathe to her the wife of Nicholas Schoonover, deceased, during her natural life, the interest in the Bank shares belonging to me in the Sussex Bank.  I do devise and bequeathe to her and her sole use, to none else not even to the defraying and debts whatever or contracted of her husband, heretofore, made, and after her decease I give the same and wish it to develop into the hands of her daughter who is now the wife of John Whitney."
