Notes about W.L. Ragan

W.L. (Wade Lenard, or William Leonard ?) Ragan is buried in the Ragan Cemetery approximately three miles North of Pelahatchie, Rankin Co., Mississippi.  There is no head stone but an encased/raised concrete structure with the inscription:

W.L. Ragan
s/o
James and Elisbeth(sic) Ragan
Aug. 11, 1848
8, 1842 (? due to break in concrete it is difficult to tell exactly))
"May his ashes rest in peace"

The grave is broken in several places and difficult to read (dates, e.g.).

The Ragan Cemetery is located on the Rankin Co. Lake Road just 100/150 yards to the East of the entrance road to the lake.  Turn right just before entering the "brick gates" at the lake road and follow the trail to the top of a hill and open space.  The cemetery is encloed with a hurricane/chain link fence.  Take Highway 43 N from Highway 80 in Pelahatchie and at first intersection turn left, then right onto the lake road entrance. 9/28/2002  BD.
