1864 He enlisted 3 September 1864 in Company E, 132nd New York Volunteers. He was mustered out with that company 29 June 1865.

1873 He enlisted in the General Service, Adjutant General's Office, 8 May 1873, appointed Sergeant 1 April 1875, and discharged 24 May 1876 with an appointment as Clerk 1 in the AGO.
