" Grandpa Naugle homesteaded  in 1911.   Rufus homesteaded in 1910 Grandpa and Grandma Naugle live about  5 miles from our place.  I can remember going over to  Grandma and Grandpa"s for Sunday dinners   - she was the  best cook  -  fried chicken, angel food cake and all the goodies      She had a wonderful garden  - poppies blooming  - the well was right next to the garden so  there was water to irrigate.  Us kids  would  take turns,  2 at a time and spend a week with Grandma and Grandpa.off and on.  In the winter time I remember going over there in the sled, all bundled up in quilts and blankets.  They had a big house  -  Grandpa had built it  - three bedrooms upstairs and kitchen, front room, bedroom, entry way and big pantry downstairs."
