    Helen Margaret Kiburz, known to her many friends and family as "Spanny", passed away peacefully on April 9, 2005. She was born in 1925 in Leetonia, OH, the daughter of the late Dr. Louis and Louise Spanabel. She grew up in Kewanee, IL and after high school went on to graduate from the University of Illinois with a degree in chemistry and microbiology. While attending the University of Illinois she was an active member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority.

    She was married to Jack Kiburz on June 14, 1947 and shortly thereafter moved to Champaign, IL, where they raised their 4 daughters and side by side built a very successful printing business and later an equally successful rental property business.

    She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John E. "Jack" Kiburz; daughters, Kathy Kiburz, Karen Kiburz, Kim Kiburz and Karol Rieger; grandchildren, Charles May, Karrie Millheim, Sam Rieger, Joseph Rieger and great-grandchildren, Charles May, Nicole Millheim and Brittany May.

    She had a great sense of humor and was a joy to be around. She made everyone she knew feel special. She was a great dancer, loved growing flowers, but was happiest strolling along the beach enjoying nature and looking for shells.

    Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the Coral Ridge Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Coral Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1700, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
