    MacGeorge, Bette
    Mrs. Bette MacGeorge, of Shavertown and Hollywood, Fla., passed away peacefully on Wednesday at the VNA Hospice Unit, Wilkes-Barre. Mrs. MacGeorge was the daughter of the late Ralph O. and Elena F. (Eberly) Sands. Mrs. MacGeorge was born on Oct. 20, 1918, in the family homestead on Carey Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, which was built by her grandfather, Charles Eberly.
    Bette graduated from E.L. Meyers in 1936. She later married Stanton MacGeorge in 1947. Together they toiled, lining brakes and selling automobile parts in a small garage on Ridge Avenue, Kingston. They moved their growing company to Schuyler Avenue, Kingston.
    She was a member of Dorranceton United Methodist Church, Kingston. Bette was a member of the Irem Temple Women's Auxiliary and enjoyed playing cards with her friends, knitting, crocheting and doing needlepoint as well as traveling extensively with her husband Mac.
    She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stanton MacGeorge, 1990; brother, John R. Sands; nieces and nephew. She will be greatly missed by her sister, Ruth Byers, Wilkes-Barre; nieces, Janet Byers, Dallas; Caryn Robertson, Landenburg, Pa.; nephew, Jack Sands, Wellesley, Mass.; great nephews; great nieces; and a great-great niece.
    Private funeral service will be held on Saturday at the Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc., Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with her pastor, the Rev. Beth Jones, officiating.  The interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton section of Kingston Township. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to the Dorranceton United Methodist Church, Wyoming Avenue, Kingston, or the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
