  • He was born on August 20, 1892 in Newton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, USA.Source 6
  • (Alt. Birth) on August 20, 1899: Newton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, USA.
The census of 1900, when he was 9 months old,  gives his birth date as Aug 1899.  The census of 1910 gives his age as 17, rather than the 11 years that he surely was and the same 11 years that his parents had been married.  However, he married in 1914 (at age 15) and gave his birthdate as 1892 when he registered for WWI in 1917 (at which point he already had 2 children although really still only 18 years old.)
  • He died December 1978 in Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, he was 86 years old.Source 7

Notes about Lewis Cosner Jr.

Lewis must have been quite precocious to have married at 15.  The date of his birth, given in his WWI registration is 7 years older than the birth year given in the 1900 census.  Likewise, he gained 16 years between the 1900 and 1910 censuses, rather than the normal 10 years. I wonder why?
