Notes about Josiah (Josiah "Jesse") "Jesse" Montonya

Josiah seems to fit best as the man known as "Jesse Mantonya" who showed up in Henry County, Missouri, after 1870 and married Mary E. Nelson, only to disappear before 1880, leaving Mary Nelson with three small children.  Since Josiah appeared with his parents both in 1850 and 1860, but disappeared thereafter, a change of name from Josiah to Jesse seems very possible. His age and general relationship (cousin) with the other Mantonyas in Henry County, Missouri, seem right.  This identification has not been proved, however, and may be wrong.
