Elder Thomas B. There was the utmost harmony between us and we reposed unshaken confidence in each other--He was taken ill with the jaundice in the summer of 1829--and on the 27th of September in that year he died in the 61st year of his age--I was requested to deliver a discourse at his interment which I attempted from Phil. I: 21: "For me to live in Christ and to die is gain."  A number of Ministers--and a large concourse of relatives and other citizens attended to mingle their sympathies and to pay their last tribute of respect to the [?] dead. "The memory of the Just is blessed."  His widow is still living among her children.  It affords myself as well as her & family a mournful pleasure to meet once in a while to talk of past occurrences.
