The census of 1850 states that Desire and Isaiah were male twins.  The cmetery records for Esperance Cemetery state that Desire was the daughter of Isaiah and Elizabeth Rockwell, and the calculations from the tombstone information indicate that he/she was born 2 years earlier than Isaiah.
