    FRED R. MONTANYE
    Fred R. Montanye died Wednesday afternoon at his home in Esperance. He had been a resident of the village for 40 years.
    Mr. Montanye had been active in the important affairs of the village. He had been in the mercantile business for over 20 years and was a director in Schoharie Bank.
    In his fraternal life he was an Odd Fellow, having attained the rank of past noble grand.  For a number of years he had been recognized as a leader in local religious circles.  At the time of his death he was a member, trustee, and treasurer of the Esperance Presbyterian Church.
    Besides his wife, he leaves a sister, May, and two brothers, Clarence and Frank Montanye.  The funeral will be held in the Presbyterian Church of Esperance this afternoon at 2 o'clock.  The service will be conducted by the pastor, Dr. Alfred M. Eells.
