Lewis county, Kentucky, 11 July 1874, Charles T. Apperson, aged 84, a resident of Lewis County, Kentucky, declares he is married, that his wife's name was Susan Park to whom he was married at Bath county, Kentucky, on the___day of March 18__; that he served the full period of sixty days in the War of 1812; that he is the identical Charles T. Apperson who enlisted in Captain Richard Menefee's Company as sergeant at Bath county in 1814; his discharge and other papers showing these facts were lost in a fire, his dwelling having been burned.
Treasury, Third auditor's Report: the Rolls of Captain Richard Menefee's Company of Kentucky Militia show that Robert Epperson served from August 16, 1813, to November 4, 1813.

March 15, 1875, Letter from William S. Rand to Commissioner states that CHARLES T. APPERSON HAS TOLD HIM THAT HE WAS CALLED BOB. SOME PERSONS CALL HIM EPPERSON AND THAT HE MAY HAVE BEEN ON THE ROLLS AS ROBERT EPPERSON. That it is not possible to get the affidavit of Andrew Griffin and other comrades to prove these facts. This old man is blind and has no money.
