Obituary for Ella Norman Mantonya
Ella Norman was born 12 September 1860 and died 1948, daughter of Abner and Mary Christ Norman.  She was a teacher near Cuba, Illinois, when she met and married John Mantonya on 18 January 1882.  They lived in Worth County, Missouri, for some time, then moved to Okeene, Okla., and on to Kansas in 1900 where they bought an 80 acre farm. ; John was a carpenter by trade and a preacher by inclination.  John died suddenly in 1904.  Ella remarried in 1905 to Vestie Mantonya, John's brother.
Ella and Vestie spent many years at Yates Center, Kansas.  As they got older and had health problems, they gave their land to the Methodist Church and spent their remaining years in the Methodist Home in Topeka, Kansas.  They were survived by a daughter-in-law, Anna, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
