Sir Ralph de Shelton I,14th Lord of Shelton was Knighted date unknown in England. At his mothers death in 1334 he was made Lord of the Manor. He first married his cousin Anne Borgulion.  In 1346,King Edward III granted his letters patent showing that he was in the King's own company at Crecy, and was Knighted for saving the life of the Black Prince Edward III, Prince of Wales,1330-1376.  He built old Shelton Hall, which was destroyed by fire in 1600. He also built Church of St.Mary's in Shelton, Norfolk, England, where he is buried.  His second marriage was to Joan de Plais daughter of John de Plais in 1346. She died in 1405
