"Dat hij een Eijsinga zou zijn kan men afleiden uit het volgende: Op 17-12-1669 wordt overgegaan tot de verdeling van de bezittingen van wijlen Eltse Jansen Sickema (de zoon van Athje en Jan Reyners) en Bauchien Pieters Wiersma. Er is daarbij sprake van Sate en landen bij Jan Reyners Eijsinga en Pieter Jacobs, beide van Burum. In het Register van Omslag komt voor Jan Reyners Eijsinga tot Fisfliet gehuwd met Aeltie Roorda, die op 3-1-1665 wordt vermeld als curator over de kinderen uit het eerste huwelijk van Aeltie Reyners en Jan Cornelisz. (Wiersma), dezelfde als Jan Cornelisz, voormond over het 1e kind (Sytse Jans) van Jan Reyners? Hoewel ik Jan Reyners niet met de familienaam Eijsinga ben tegengekomen, kan de Jan Reyners Eijsinga uit Visvliet mogelijk een kleinzoon van hem geweest zijn."
