In 1767, Thomas served in the French and Indian War. ; The instant Thomas was a surveyor with George Washington on 25 September 1774.
(Sources: George Washington Diaries: Deeds and Chancery reports, Baltimore Co., Maryland; Family papers; Census records, Durbin Logsdon families in America by William Jessie Durbin, Logsdon's Roots and Branches by Marsales Logsdon 1978).  George Washington diaries of September 1774 indicating Thomas and his brother Joseph were then living in Hampshire Co., Virginia (now Grant Co., WVA). This is near Gormania, W. Virginia.
George Washington's maps re-printed in 1932 National Geographic map (in file) showing location of Thomas Logsdon and Joseph Logsdon homes.  In 1787, Thomas obtained 3 land patents - total of 500 acres on Stony River (near Virginia / West Virginia state line).

In 1789, Edward, Thomas and Joseph Logsdon resided in Madison Co., Kentucky.  On September 07, 1796, Thomas had land surveyed in Logan Co., Kentucky.  In May 1818, a will for Thomas was probated in Barren Co., Kentucky.

Thomas' will in May 1818 (probably Thomas II) in Barren Co., Kentucky left the farm (107 acres) to son, John, and the furniture and cattle to children, Thomas (III?) & Mary. His signature on will is very shaky which may indicate very old age (or illness).  Also note: records show Thomas was given a land grant in 1783 (age 60?) - must have been a son! Thomas is also on the Colonial Muster Payroll of the French / Indian War in 1766 (he would have been 40+).
