V.   5.  JAMES (BERTIE), LORD NORRIS, 1st son and heir of his mother, baptized 16 June 1653, at St. Margaret's, Westminster,      and succeeded her in that dignity 24 March 1656/7.  He first sat in Parliament "as a Peer, upon Descent," under the style of "James Norreys de Ricott, Cheval.," 13 April 1675, his writ having been issued the preceding day. He was created, 30 November 1682, EARL OF ABINGDON, co. Berks. See that title, with which this Barony has since continued to be united.
