Jaarboek CBG 1958, blz. 101:

tresorier (1466, 1470, 1479); schepen (1469) en burgemeester (1467, 1471 en 1481) van Haarlem.
Hij sterft ca. 1490.
Willem wordt op het balastingkohier in de Tresoriersrekning over 1483 aangeslagen "met zijn twee kinderen' voor 500 pond, slecht seen matig kapitaal naast zijn broeders Jonge Jan voor 5000 pond en de stamhouder Gerrit Janszoon voor 17500 pond.
De vermelding "twee kinderen" slaat in dit verband slechts op de contribuale kinderen, de geestelijkheid van die dagen was namelijk vrij van belasting. Willem had echter vier kinderen, de oudste drie hiervan komen voor in de Tresoriersrekening 1479, waar op fol. 12 vermeld staat hoe hij voor ieder van hen een lijfrente kocht.
