Francois (comte de 1477 à 1495) et Marie de Luxembourg
Il est né en 1470, pendant sa minorité la tutelle du Comté est assurée par son oncle Louis de Joyeuse. En 1484, il récupére directement du Roi la Baronnie de Mondoubleau qui est alors incorporée au Comté de Vendome. Il est un fidèle d'Anne de Beaujeu et du Roi Charles VIII. Il est mort à 25 ans à Vercelli en Italie le 30 octobre 1495.
Il a épousé en 1487 Marie de Luxembourg veuve de Jacques de Savoie Comte de Romont. Elle lui apporte de nombreuses possessions et en particulier les Comtés de Saint Pol et de Soissons.
A la mort de Francois, elle prend la tutelle du Comté au nom de ses enfants. Elle agrandit la Collégiale Saint Georges, fait reconstruire l'Eglise Saint Martin. Elle donne la porte St Georges aux Bourgeois de Vendome pour en faire l'Hotel de Ville. L'époque de Marie de Luxembourg est la plus brillante de l'histoire de Vendome. Elle est morte à la Fère en Picardie le 1° avril 1546 à l'age de 85 ans.
Elle a eu avec Francois cinq enfants:
- Charles qui suit,
- Francois Comte de Saint Pol, il épouse Adrienne d'Estouteville et devient duc d'Estouteville,
- Louis né en 1494, Cardinal de Bourbon, il termina sa carrière écclésiastique comme Archeveque de Sens,
- Antoinette qui épouse Claude de Lorraine Duc de Guise,
- Louise Abbesse de Fontrevaud.
Le Comte Francois a eu également d'Isabeau de Grigny un fils, Jacques.
