Te Gent (Over-Betuwe) heeft men de "Opwijksche" tienden, Ook vermelden die aanteckeningen Johanna's grootvader Antonius Caesar (I- Imperator of 1 Empereur) van Oppyck, heer van Malaret of van Havines, die om den godsdienst uit Brabant verdreven, naar Bremen toog, en gehuwd was met Sara v. der Meulen (Muelen), Jansdr bij Elisabeth Segers. Johanna's vader, + 22 Aug. 1637 als predikant te 's Gravenhage, waar in de Kloosterkerk bezijden den predikstoel in den noordermuur een uitvoerig grafschrift prijkte, of misschien nog prijkt, dat zijn ganschen levensloop mededeelt in het Latijn. Nog kan ik mededeelen, dat J. L Empereur zaterdag 15 Oct. 1892 passagier was aan boord van het stoomschip Maasdam, kapitein A. Potjer, van Rotterdam naar New-York, via Boulogne S/M.
