    Sister of M. H. Muyres, Passes Away at Hopkins. Mrs. Gertrude Muyres Joos died last week Thursday of cancer of the stomach, at the age of 60 years. She was one of the old settlers of this vicinity and her death caused considerable sorrow among her relatives and a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. Mrs. Joos was born in Limburg, Holland, July 8th 1851, and came to this country when nine years of age, settling with her parents on a farm near Cologne. At the age of 18 she was married to Chas. Joos and settled on another farm, where they resided until 11 years ago, when they moved to Hopkins. The funeral was held from the residence here last Saturday forenoon and interment was made in the Catholic cemetery at Cologne. Her husband and eight children survive her. The children are: Fred, Wm., Josep, Lizzie, Henry, Chas., Mrs. J. F. Schubert, and Mrs. Harry Blaunt. - Hopkins News.
