"Keller, Augustin 22.8.1754 à Soleure, mentionné pour la dernière fois en 1799, cath., de Soleure. Fils de Franz Leonz, tailleur et sacristain de l'église Saint-Ours à Soleure, et d'Anna Johanna Elisabeth Krutter, fille d'Urs Joseph, intendant de l'arsenal. Marié. Collège des jésuites à Soleure (1766-1770). Entré au service de France, K. fut commandant de la place de Bruges en 1798. Nommé ministre de la Guerre de la République helvétique le 27 août 1798, il ne put entrer en fonction, le Directoire français ayant mis son veto. Commandant, avec rang de colonel, de la Légion helvétique (7 novembre 1798), puis commandant en chef, avec rang de général de brigade, des troupes d'élite helvétiques (28 mars 1799). Relevé de ses fonctions le 24 mai 1799 pour avoir échoué dans sa tâche, il s'enfuit à Paris et passa en cour martiale le 24 juillet 1799. K. aurait servi plus tard comme commandant de bataillon en France et terminé sa carrière comme capitaine à Batavia (auj. Jakarta).
