Op 10-04-1727 verzoekt Olof Jacobsz Opdam de schout van Obdam hem aan te bevelen bij de graaf van Wassenaar en hem te vragen toestemming te geven om de taak van zijn vader (ordinair schipper van de trekschuit vaerende van Obdam op Alkmaar en terug) over te nemen. [bron Dekker-Bonnema].

De eerste 3 kinderen worden vermeld in de boedelscheiding van Aaltje Jans op 03-04-1737 (NA Obdam 4076/060).
Bij de boedelscheiding van zijn 2e vrouw (NA Obdam 4076/080) zijn 2 kinderen bekend Pieter in 1738 en Jacob in 1744. Olof was schipper op een trekschuit tussen de Berkmeer en Alkmaar.
