NIEBOER, Roger Allen
Kalamazoo Died at 8:30 pm on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Heartland Nursing Home where he had been a patient for two years. He was born on October 31, 1944 to Jeannette and Henry Nieboer of Kalamazoo. Roger was born with cerebral palsy but in spite of his severe handicap, he maintained his independence, living alone after the passing of his parents. Two years ago he became a patient at Heartland. He was able to work some when he was younger with his Dad on the family grape vineyard and also with his brother doing masonry work. Roger was a happy person in spite of his handicaps and a favorite patient at Heartland. Everyone loved him there. He will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Maynard; and sisters, Dorothy Bonnema and Ellie Nieboer. Surviving are his brothers, Anthony Irene Nieboer of Kalamazoo, and Arnold Nieboer of Grand Rapids. Services will be held at 11:00am Monday, December 15 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Friends may meet the family from 10-11:00 prior to the service. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.
