Beste Mark, mijn naam is Menno Twisk en ik ben bezig met de geschiedenis te beschrijven van de Castricumse Reddingsbrigade van voor de 2e wereldoorlog. Daarin komt Cornelis Sieben in voor, volgens de overlijdensakte jachtopziener van beroep en geboren op Vlieland. Hij verdronk echter met zijn echtgenote in het Noordzeekanaal in 1933, toen zij op weg waren voor de toenmalige Reddingsbrigade. Ik vermoed dat hij bij het PWN werkte - het provinciaal Waterleidingbedrijf die ook de jacht exploiteerde in de duinen bij Castricum en Bakkum. Cees Sieben woonde in Bakkum (gemeente Castricum). Hij moet een bepalende man zijn geweest bij de eerste oprichtingsactiviteiten van de reddingsbrigade en hij zou kinderen nagelaten hebben. In de geschiedenis van ons dorp en in de archieven van onze Stichting Oud Castricum kunnen we op dit moment niet veel meer vinden over Cees Sieben. Nu ik zijn naam tegenkwam in de genealogie van de familie Molenaar ben ik zo vrij om jou te vragen of je misschien meer van hem weet of zijn familie.
