Landbouwer, penningmeester van Smeetsland en van der Woudensland 1605/07. Penningmeester van de polder Varkensoord1612/15. Door zijn huwelijk met Marijke Cranendonk kwam Jan in het bezit van de voorvaderlijke hofstede aan de Hordijk.
