Evert is de 5e Ganseboom die pachter is op het goed "de Ganseboom" in Riele. Maatschappelijk gaat het hem goed. In 1744 moet hij aan diverse verpondingen, contributies, vuurstedengeld en dienstbodengeld 68 gulden en 14 stuivers betalen. Daarna wordt het deinstbodengeld regelmatig hoger. In 1744 heeft hij 4 dienstboden. Als dienstbode zijn bij hem indienst geweest: Jan Wielens, overlden 27-11-1742 en in Deventer begraven. Wilmken Gerrits en Hendrina Hendriksen. Het kan ook zijn dat de extra hulp nodig was voor zijn vrouw wegens ziekte. In 1748 overleed zij.
