Aert Cornelisz Verheul deed 18.1.1692 en 23.7.1695 als oom en naaste bloedvoogd rekening t.b.v. de nagelaten weeskinderen van Pieter Jansz Herticxvelt en Sara Postelius, beiden zaligersta.

Het echtpaar woonde, zeker sedert 1691, op het Weverseinde te Puttershoek. In 1714 is Aerts weduwe eigenaresse, terwijl in 1722 haar schoonzoon Wouter van de Griend eigenaar is. In 1697 blijken Aert Cornelisz Verheul, de erfgenamen van Pieter Jansen Hartigsveld en de wed. van Pieter Leenderts Veerman, allen gewezen pachters van de grienden in de Oost- en West Zomerlandpolder, 1046 gld. schuldig te zijn aan het gemene land n.a.v. schade en ,,mangementen?. Zij verklaren dit geld nooit te kunnen opbrengen en verzoeken om met 500 gld. te kunnen volstaat. Uit deze akte blijkt dat Aert minder welgesteld was dan zijn grootvader. De financiële neergang valt ook reeds bij zijn vader te constateren. Volgens de wilsbeschikking van diens moeder uit 1653 was Cornelis Barendrecht met achterlating van schulden overleden. In het kohier van de 100ste penning over Oost- en West-Barendrecht en Carnisse uit 1699 staat Aert Cornelisz Verheul vermeld als bruiker van 4 mr. 300 r. in het Binnenland. Van de zonen van het echtpaar Verheul-Polderman heeft kennelijk alleen Cornelis het geslacht voortgezet. In 1682 werden twee van hun kinderen in de kerk van Puttershoek begraven.
