Notes about Trijntje Mantel

Dochter Jacoba woonde met haar gezin in de Rubensstraat 111b in Rotterdam Kralingen. Trijntje woonde daar niet ver vandaan in een straatje achter de molen op het Oostplein. Kort voor het bombardement van 14 mei 1940, is de familie Bel-Polstra verhuisd naar het oude noorden (Zoomstraat 35b 2x bellen). De Rubensstraat is gebombardeerd en ook de woning van Trijntje. Na het bombardement woonde Trijntje in bij haar dochter Jacoba. Ze had veel verdriet van het verlies van haar woning door het bombardement en van alle dieren (aantal katten en vogeltjes) die hierbij om het leven zijn gekomen. Nog in de oorlog werd er in Rotterdam zuid bij het Zuidplein, begin Strevelsweg een wijkje gebouwd met kleine noodwoningen. Men noemde dat het Brabantsedorp vanwege de straatnamen. Trijntje is hier later gaan wonen aan de Boxmeerstraat.
