Ford-Jongerius te Utrecht. -Geb. 12 Oct. 1888. - Vader: Bastiaan Jongerius, hovenier; Moeder: Aletta Anthonia van Beusekom. - Geh. 17 Febr. '14 te Jutphaas met Henrica Cornelia van Kraay. – Kinderen : Bastiaan Antonius, geb. 18 Dec. 1914; Wilhelmus Jacobns, geb. 28 Febr. 1910; Aletta Anthonia, geb. 20 Juni 1917; Anna Maria, geb. 29 Dec. 1918; Johannes Josephus, geb. 27 Febr. 1920; Henrica Cornelia, geb. 4 April 1921; Catharina Authonia, geb. 23 Juni 1922; Geertruida Anthonia, geb. 5Sept. 1923; Hermanus Anthonius Emanuel, geb. 25 Deo. 1924 en Cornelia Anthonia, geb. 12 April 1926. - J. genoot in zijn geboortestad L.O. en werd op jeugdigen leeftijd opgenomen in den groentenhandel van zijn vader. Naderhand kreeg hij naast de groentenleveringen voor de kazernes, tevens levering van hooi- en stroo, en voor het transport, dat aanvankelijk met paard en wagen, later per auto geschiedde, kwam hij in 1921 in aanraking met Mr. Waterbury, den Dir. v. d. toenmalige Continental Petroleum Cy. J. werd belast met de installatie van benzinepompen door geheel Nederland. voor genoemde Cy., de latere Texas Cy.In 1924 installeerde hij de eerste Texacopomp; een jaar later werd hem de reorg. opgedragen v. een onderafd. Amsterdam van de Texas Cy. Daarmede deed „De Toekomst'' haar intrede, alwaar de broer van J. als bedrijfsleider werd aangesteld nl. Michiel A. Jongerius. Door relaties kwam J. in contact met Mr. Wismeyer, den toenmalige Dir. v. d. Ford Motor Cy. in Holland, die J. de vacant geworden dealer-plaats voor Utrecht aanbood. Den 19en Mrt. 1935 werd de N.V. Ford-Jongerius opgericht, waarvan
J. comm. en zijn broer Nic. Ant. Jongerius Dir. werd. - J. beweegt zich veel op liefdadigheidsterrein en is o.a. lid van verschillende R,.K. Sociale Vereenigingen. – Zoowel voor zaken als voor genoegen bereisde hij vrijwel geheel Europa. In 1937 bezocht hij Algiers en van daar uit maakte hij een autotocht naar Midden-Afrika. In 1938 bezocht hij de V.S., teneinde de Fordbedrijven te bezichtigen. - Met groote ambitie wijdt hij zich in zijn vrijen tijd aan. groenten- en fruitkweekerij; hij is bezitter van de grootste particuliere perzikenkas van ons land. – Kanaalweg 34, Utrecht.
