In1766 heeft Jan Schut de molen verpacht aan Harmen Kop, de vroegere pachter van de Tepelenberg (no 78).
Herman Jansen Kop, geboren in juli 1733, heeft slechts korte tijd op de Tepelenberg gewerkt. Hij was de zoon van Jannes Kop en Teunisje Herms. Hij trouwde in maart 1788 met Luitje Gerrits Meijerink, dochter van Gerrit Jansen Meijerink en Catrina Jansen Bloemink. Volgens Hardonk was hij in 1747 (dus 14 jaar oud) knecht op de Windemolen.
In september 1778 werd door de erfgenamen van Jan Derks Schut de molen ‘genaemt ’t Voorslop’ (de oudste vermelding van deze naamsvorm, voor zover ons bekend) voor 3800 gld aan Harmen Kop verkocht, waarvoor Kop 3000 gld leende. In januari 1782 overleed Harmen Kop. Zijn weduwe woonde met haar zes kinderen op de molen, die later gaande werd gehouden door haar zoons Jannes en Garrit, in 1773 en 1775 geboren.
De weduwe, die ver over de tachtig is geworden, verkocht in april 1817 aan de toen nog levende vijf kinderen (Jannes, Gerrit en Aalbert, die papiermakers waren, Hendrika, diesntmaagd in Deventer en Aaltje, zonder beroep) haar gerede goederen, zoals papier, lompen, blauwsel, aluin, papiermakersgereedschappen enzovoort, ter waarde van 350 gld, en de helft van een huis, waard 150 gld. In 1822 werd het Voorslop door de erfgenamen voor 2571 gld verkocht aan Lipman van Rees.
