Notes about Walraven van Benthem

- Schepen van Kekerdom en Leuth.
- Walraven van Benthem, geb. ca. 1500 (vermeld 1547-’57), schepen van Kekerdom en Leuth (1553/’54) (woonde op de Capittelshof te Leuth en was eigenaar van het land (groot 2 hond = 200 roeden = 200x 14 m2) met hoeve (‘hoffstatt’) naast de kerk van Leuth ('Thiendbouck' van Leuth, 1554), overl. 1557/’71,

- Walraven van Benthem stond in 1547 borg voor zijn broer Hans (zie hiervoor). Hij wordt voor het laatst vermeld in 1557. Hij woonde op de Capittelshof te Leuth, die hij zeer waarschijnlijk pachtte van het Kapittel van Kranenburg (D.). Deze hof werd ook Ahlinge Hof of Benthemshof genoemd. In 1565 en in 1594 werd de grootte van de Ahlinge Hof vastgesteld op 75 Hollandse morgen. Anna Willems sluit in 1571 een pacht¬kontrakt af voor de Ahlinge Hof voor de periode 1572-‘88. De pacht werd in 1578 overgenomen door haar zoon Arndt en in 1590 door diens broer Rutger.
