Notes about Nicolaas "Nicolaas" Vermeulen

Nicolaas en Anna woonde op het Stoepin Alblasserdam, (wat nu de Haven heet) daar was de scheepswerf, die Nicolaas had gehad. Na het overlijden van Nicolaas op, 12 maart 1898, is er een zetbaas op de werf gekomen. De scheepswerf is op een gegeven moment opgehouden te bestaan, omdat er geen vraag meer was naar houten schepen.
Toen Annigje (Anna) van de Greft (opoe Vermeulen zoals ze genoemd werd) erg ziek was, heeft ze aan haar zuster Mien gevraagd of Ger naar Alblasserdam kon komen om haar te verzorgen.
Het was een groot huis waar Anna woonde en er waren nog 2 of 3 huizen die van de scheepswerf waren.
In dat grote huis woonde Anna en nicht Ger de Vries is daarbij in gaan wonen. Toen Anna overleed werd het huis van Jacob.
Toen is Ger in 1 van de andere huizen gaan wonen, dat was 2 huizen verderop van het grote huis en is zij kostgangers gaan houden. Maar zij kon van dat inkomen niet rondkomen en toen heeft Anna Klaziina gevraagd of ze bij hen in huis wilde komen om haar te helpen in het gezin (7 dochters).
