Op 18-03-1735 compareert Jan (Jannes) Jongepier uit Grijpskerke voor de Weeskamer van Grijpskerke en Poppendamme en toont een testament - gedateerd 14-06-1733 - waarin hij door Jacomijntje Willems Vijffpond (de weduwe van Cornelis Leijnse Brasser ) is benoemd tot haar enige erfgenaam. Op 03-06-1737 werd Jan Jongepier Schout van St.Laurens. "Er is den 3 Meij 1737 op den huyse Popkenburgh gecompareert den meergen. Jan Jongepier, die in handen van den Ambagtsheer de Eed als Schoudt heeftafgelegt". Dit bleef hij tot 20-10-1785. Op 03-04-1749 verkoopt hij aan zijn zoon Jan Jansen Jongepier "een hofstede met huysinge, schuur en verdere gevolge, groot 10 gemeten en 50 roeden".
