    Theresienstadt (Duits) of Terezín (Tsjechisch) is de naam van een fort binnen de Tsjechische vestingstad Theresienstadt. Het fort, waar het voormalige concentratiekamp van Theresienstadt ligt, heet "Kleine Vesting", de stad zelf noemt men "Grote Vesting".
    Tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog deed het fort dienst als krijgsgevangenenkamp, waar ook de moordenaar van Frans Ferdinand, Gavrilo Princip tot 1916 werd opgesloten. In de Tweede Wereldoorlog gebruikten de nazi's Theresienstadt als concentratiekamp terwijl het Kleine Fort als gevangenis door de Gestapo in gebruik werd genomen.
    Een groot deel van de gevangenen werd geëxecuteerd net voordat de geallieerden Theresienstadt bevrijdden, en in massagraven gedumpt. Deze werden na de oorlog herbegraven naast de vesting.
    Op 3 mei 1945 droegen de nazi's de controle over het kamp over aan het Rode Kruis en op 8 mei werd Theresienstadt officieel door het Rode Leger bevrijd. Theresienstadt had de twijfelachtige eer om een reserveringskamp te zijn. Hoewel de situatie in de overige reserveringskampen beduidend beter was, was ook Theresienstadt bedoeld om mensen te sparen voor een ander doel: propaganda.
