Notes about Grietje "Grietje" Groot

Toen opie hoorde dat opa overleden was, zei ze, Nôh, hij had de zolder nag rôden moeten! (rôden=schoonmaken). Daarna zwierf opie van het ene kind naar het andere, het laatste was ze bij ons. Er was voor haar een kamertje gemaakt, een bed en tafeltje met twee stoelen voor het raam. Ze sliep er alleen maar. Denk je dat ik in dat hok gaan!. Nee hoor, ze zat pré an bij de huiskamertafel in de leuningstoel. Ze hield erg van lezen, vooral de stuiverromannetjes vond ze prachtig. Één keer in de zoveel tijd kwam kapelaan haar bezoeken. Als ze dan zat te lezen, had ze geen tijd voor hem. Ze lachte maar wat en zei eens ja, ja maar de ogen hield ze op het boek. Zo nieuwsgierig was ze of het met de hoofdpersoon in haar boek wel goed afliep!
