Durk Hijlkes Bakker trouwde twee keer. Na het overlijden van Gepke Iebes Veenstra, met wie hij 7 kinderen kreeg, trouwde hij met haar zus Antje. Voor zover ik weet kregen zij maar 1 kind, mijn voorouder Iebe Durks Bakker.

De grafsteen van Durk Hielkes in Ureterp is heel bijzonder. Hij ligt samen met andere molenaars begraven onder een smalle, hoge steen met een afbeelding van een molen bovenop.
Van de grafsteen is ook een foto te vinden in een (Fries) boek over bijzondere grafstenen.
